Hello Purplicious Peeps! This year we’re taking some pretty big steps and have planned some significant changes to our event. The big news is that we have decided to move our race to take place the first weekend in November so that we can kick off National Epilepsy Awareness Month. That means this year we’ll be holding our race on Saturday, November 1 to join people across the nation who participate in events that raise awareness about epilepsy, encourage healthy lifestyles, and share the stories of living with seizures.
There were several reasons that influenced our decision to move the race, but let’s just say that we decided the snow in November was better than the snow in March. That, and we know you have a lot of Halloween candy to work off in early November.
Because the event date has moved, our race is now the Purple Dash 5k.
Post Script: Purple Day is still an Epilepsy Awareness Day that takes place on March 26th, and we’re hoping that you will wear your purple proudly. We have twenty Epilepsy Awareness yard signs to give away, and are offering these on a first come, first serve basis. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to pick one up in the Salt Lake County area.
