DONATION DOLLARS FOR CONFECTION HEAVEN
So Cupcake has agreed to create a special Purple Day Cupcake for us – a purple velvet cupcake with purple frosting and sprinkles – that will be available at the race. You can get one cupcake for a $3 donation or 2 for $5 from the So Cupcake Truck. We have 100 cupcakes, and are hoping that you’ll treat yourself to one of these beautiful and tasty creations!

PUSH TO THE FINISH
We have been engaged by and are working with Push to the Finish, an organization that places runners with kids who would otherwise not be able to compete in running events. We’re excited to welcome the PTTF runners, the kids they run with, and their families as a part of our event.

A GENEROUS BUNCH
We have several generous supporters who have provided prizes this year. There are a lot of people to recognize who have helped to make this a really great race, so much so that it deserves another email to tell you about these people and what they are contributing (really, we’re going to dedicate a future post to this). In the meantime, here’s a list of the businesses and families we would love to recognize: Life Aveda Salon and Spa, Kelli Bramble Photography, R-U-N Events, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Road ID, The Coskey Family and the fantastic folks at both RUN GR8 and Wasatch Running Centers.

ABOUT THE PURPLE DAY 5K
Purple Day is March 26th, and is considered a Global Day for Epilepsy Awareness. Our event is scheduled on Saturday, March 24th to coincide with Purple Day. We advocate for better understanding of Epilepsy and seizures, and provide instructions and giveaways for what to do if you see a seizure. We also promote a more active lifestyle for anyone through participation in our 5k run, walk and roll.

The entire event is hosted by the Green family, and this is our first year hosting the event. All proceeds from the race will go towards Epilepsy programs in Utah. We select to work with certain foundations to accomplish this goal. This year we are working with Epilepsy Association of Utah for their local awareness and outreach programs, and the CeCe Cares Pediatric Epilepsy Foundation, who this year are engaging Primary Children’s Medical Center in their CeCe Bear® Initiative.

We will send another event update out on Wednesday. Until then, please share our site with your friends, and encourage them to join us on Saturday, March 24th for the Purple Day 5k.

Thanks very much,
Greg Green
